Gangster Nation Guide

The Settings screen is packed with options and features that let you tailor the game to your playstyle. Once you're familiar with the basics of Gangster Nation, take some time to explore each Settings menu. You may find useful tweaks that improve controls and visuals of the game to your liking.

Login Details

Here you can change your account email and, if you registered directly (not using Google or Apple), update your password.

Interface and Sounds

Here you can configure the game's interface, including:

Game Preferences

Here you can configure general game settings.

Alerts

Here you can toggle various alerts on or off. For extortion, you can set the minimum amount the extortion must be to receive an alert.

Push Notifications

Push notifications keep you informed about what's going on in Gangster Nation while you don't have the app open, for example if someone messages you or if you're killed.

Dialogue

This screen allows you to configure quotes which are automatically said to other players when certain actions occur.

Currently, the only option is to configure a backfire message, which is said to someone who shoots at you and dies in your backfire. We plan to expand this feature to more areas in future.

Blocked Features

Here you can self-block yourself from various features for a period of time, generally casino features.

Any blocks applied here are for your account rather than your current character.

Game administrators will not remove blocks against casino features, so think carefully before applying a block.

Blocked Players

This screen lets you view any existing blocks you have against other players and remove those blocks.

Highlighted Vehicles

Certified Gangster Required

This feature allows you to select up to 5 vehicles to be highlighted when they appear in Vehicle Theft or the Auction House.

Hideout Mode

You can use hideout mode to protect your gangster while on vacation or as a game tactic. While in hideout mode your gangster is protected from being killed but you'll be unable to access the game. There is no way to leave hideout mode once this is activated, the game administrators will not remove you from hideout. After entering the hideout, you'll be presented with a screen displaying the amount of time remaining.

The following restrictions apply to using hideout mode:

Hidden Gangsters

Your history of previous gangsters is private (unless you choose to reveal it) but some players may ask you to provide screenshots or even screen recordings of your history. To counteract this, you can use the "Hidden gangsters" settings to hide any number of gangsters from your history for a period of time. Then you can safely take a screenshot or even screen recording which only shows the names you want someone to see.

After the feature is enabled, there's no way to reverse it or see how long is left because someone may ask you to provide a screenshot or screen recording of this area; it will be as though the selected gangsters never belonged to your account.

The full changes made for hidden gangsters are:

Note: This action doesn't remove the selected previous gangsters from the public history of any of your gangsters. To do this you should unreveal the gangsters from your public history first.

Reserved Names

Gangster Nation sometimes reserves usernames you've used previously, so that other accounts can't impersonate you. This screen shows which names are currently reserved to your account and when that reservation expires.

Close Account

This screen allows you to close your account permanently. It's not possible to recover your account once the account closure has been processed.
