In the early hours of day 77 Jack AKA FredyKrueger changed his name and dropped down to level 32 and set detectives on level 22 with the plan to kill them all.

Things did not go completely to plan... after killing Phenomenal and OverLord he died in Aneko's backfire having fired 275k.

This was not the end... He then came back on account called Fury with level 22 life insurence and killed Fingers, Luckylol, Sweetsins, Butterfinger, Hell, Storm and finished Aneko.

It came to an end when he fired at Destiny who fired back and killed him.

The Big Interview w/ Mike

Written by imandez

KingSlayer:

Hey Mike, How have you been ?

Mike:

Good thanks, a little tired but good! You?

KingSlayer:

I am well, thank you.

The main reason i asked for this interview is to get your opinion on the current state of the round and your opinion on the family so il get straight into it

Firstly i wanted to ask what your opinion on the family Surreal Consequences is and how you feel about there game plan

Mike:

I don't know anything specific about their 'game plan' to be able to comment on that. I can see that they have dominated the round by any means necessary, accomplishing various achievements along the way. That's pretty cool and that's really how any family should be playing. Perhaps if more families had the balls to play that way, it wouldn't have only been one family left standing.

The only 'problem' I've had (though really it's none of my business, as anyone is free to play the game within the game rules), was that the family was spread over two families earlier in the round. It's not like there are loads of people playing Gangster Nation, so for people who could run two separate families to join into one large family is just daft. There is a reason the maximum members is 20, it's set to this figure because this is a good size for the number of players we have. Spanning into two families surely cannot be fun for anybody, 40 people out of ~120 logging in on average each day is a huge amount to be part of one team. Being friends does not mean that EVERYBODY has to be in the same family either! Separate, run your families, see who comes out on top. That's my personal opinion on it anyway, I can't stop anybody from creating two families and being allies.

KingSlayer:

It is commonly said in chat that the way the family has ruined the round and is ruining the game...

so i ask has the amount of players changed not just online but the amount of new users aswell

Mike:

The amount of players active on a daily and weekly basis is normal for this time of the round, it's actually a bit higher than last round (the last round was below average).

As for new registrations, these are normal. I don't have statistics to hand on new player retention but this is something actually being worked on at the moment and there is a feature lined up which should help a lot with retaining new players on their first sign in.

If you don't already know, almost all work right now is going into rewriting the website to expose an API (application programming interface). Once this is done, the API becomes the brain of the game and the website you're using now won't be as tightly coupled to the game. Instead, the website is just one interface to the game. At this point, we can then build a mobile application which can also interface with the same API, the same brain which the main website is using. This is a lot of work but absolutely worth it, the number of people accessing the site on mobile is increasing a lot and as you may even notice in chat, more and more players are struggling to play from their mobiles. I am hoping that once the work is complete later this year and we can push out our first native mobile app, the number of active players will increase as people can stay connected to the game at all times. The future there could then be very bright, imagine (optional) push notifications on your mobile when you're shot at - we could do some pretty cool stuff!

KingSlayer:

Do you think that bullet stores have had a big impact on this round ? and do you think it would be different without them or do you think Surreal Consequences would of still been able to dominate

Mike:

It's hard to say exactly what impact, but sure, they have had some impact. Even in the smallest form, the impact would be the effect they have had on other players who have given up with the game at the sight of one family having control over 10 of them.

One issue was the pricing. $250 for public, much lower for families. This was not thought to be an issue recently because the idea was that the stores would be spread over various families. So a lot more players would have access to the cheaper prices. Instead it was all one family, but again you can't blame the family for playing the game.

I don't think the core idea of stores being owned by players is a bad thing. I think that's the kind of thing which makes the game more interesting. Yeah we need to make one or two changes to improve things, but that's what happens in an ever evolving game and part of the reason we have rounds. This round has certainly been different to previous rounds and the next round will be even more interesting because of how this round has gone. Perhaps people will protect their Bullet Stores in the first place better next round too. If the change wasn't made to the Bullet Store, we'd have another round the same as the previous few rounds. This round has shook things up a bit and people are now ready to go nuclear next round

and would SC be able to dominate without the stores? I don't know. That depends what was in the head of SC bosses before the round started. If this was always the plan, then probably so. The stores may have made it a bit easier, more so due to them putting off others from playing properly. Just takes the right people I guess?

KingSlayer:

People seem to think i am scared of what will happen next round but i am excited and i think the game will have changed for the better.

My final questions are about two of the most occurring points in chat

The first one is that it is bad we transfer bullets between members... do you agree with this ?

and the second is that me/batman cheat and two people shouldnt be able to play on the same ip... what are your thoughts on this ?

Mike:

1) I think if the feature to transfer bullets is there, and you're part of a family of trusting members, then why not. That's the whole point of being in a family. Maybe other people should start a competing family and build theirs up instead of complaining about members helping each other out within your family? :-)

2) Lots of people play on the same connection. If anybody has evidence that the guy interviewing me is cheating, please stop reading his issue and open up a Help Request with that evidence. If not, pipe down and play the game instead of hating on people cause they're at the top of their game! Almost every player to ever be at the top has ended up being accused of cheating. This is just what happens on Gangster Nation and in real life, sadly.

KingSlayer:

Ok well that is it for this interview!

Thank you for your participation, Much appreciated ?
